We Have Dates!

Our 40th reunion will be held in Colorado Springs from 8-11 Sep 2022. Miles Kirkhuff just sent me this update (which those of you on the class mailing list have already received):

Hello Redtags! First of all, sorry for the delay in announcing our reunion dates. I had some family stuff to deal with as well as last minute coordination with the AOG. Well, it’s official! Our reunion weekend will be 08-11 September 2022. Our football opponent will be the Colorado University Buffalos. As for the hotel, we are still coordinating on which ones to use for the host and overflow hotels. There are a lot of events, both USAFA and non-AFA, scheduled for that weekend. Our goal is to choose a hotel that can support our Thursday night social as well as our Friday night banquet. As with all our previous reunions, it's unlikely we'll be able to provide a single hotel to house the entire class, so registering early will be very important. Due to what we feel will be a finite number of rooms at our host hotel, our goal along with Armed Forces Reunions, Inc. (AFR, the company the AOG uses for reunion registration and planning) is to provide overflow hotels that hopefully be within walking distance of the host hotel.

SUSPENSE: 11 Mar 2022 - Now that we know the reunions dates, Jim Ratti will be sending out a quick survey asking about attendance, billeting, banquet numbers, etc. We will not be using these results as our actual numbers, but it will give us an idea of the number of people who will attend our larger events. If you're receiving this e-mail directly, you should also receive a link to survey in a separate message. If you don't, please contact Jim. As we have said in previous emails, reunions are not inexpensive. I can’t stress enough, if you haven’t already, start saving now towards our 40th reunion. Air travel, billeting, car rental, registration, etc., all add up. The AOG in conjunction with AFR is working hard to negotiate the best hotel and event rates. Please pass the word on to as many classmates as possible. Contact your squadron mates and let them know that you are planning on attending.
